Anjani cement has been in the forefront and highly committed for its neighborhood and community developments ensuring a clean and healthy environment in and around the plant.

The company has so far spent nearly Rs. 10 Crores on social and community development for providing education and running an English Medium High School up to 10th standard for the neighborhood, building pucca houses for the poor, laying of roads in villages, providing public health and nutrition, providing drinking water, conducting health camps, old age pensions, renovation of temples churches, mosques etc.,

While reviving this non-operational unit, the management of the company laid special emphasis on implementation of developmental activities in the surrounding localities. The three decade rich expertise of the management was effectively put to use in areas of pollution control and environment preservation. We feel that every corporate has a social obligation to its environs. Detailed below are a few programs that have been taken up by Anjani.

  • An Extensive plantation program surrounding the factory, mines and colony areas was taken up. More than 20,000 trees and plants of all varieties have been planted, resulting in a green cover.
  • Basic infrastructure like laying of roads and building culverts in the nearby areas were taken up.
  • Adoption of the latest technology in bench development at the Limestone quarries of Anjani Mines, so as to ensure safety of the mines workers as well as to ensure least disturbance to the surrounding villages.
  • The Company has taken up effective measures to ensure the surrounding villages have a steady supply of drinking water, by building water tanks and delivering water tankers during the dry summer months.
  • Contributions in cash or kind to religious temples, etc are a regular feature at Anjani.
  • The Company also has special priorities in the fields of primary health and education. Regular medical camps are held in the neighboring villages periodically and scholarships are given to meritorious students.
  • Distribution of rice to poor and handicapped villagers is done periodically.

Anjani believes that companies are economic organs of society and therefore, need to be ultimately evaluated in terms of overall value they create for society.

Anjani as an enterprise consciously exercises the strategic choice of contributing to, and securing the competitiveness of the entire value chain of which it is a part. The philosophy has shaped the vision for the company - the vision of “A Commitment Beyond the Market”.

The primary issues focused for the rural development were Roads, Water, Health Sanitation, Education and Housing. An amount of Rs.5 Crores was spent so far by Anjani on various welfare services in the neighboring villages of the Anjani Plant.

1. Employment to Locals:

The Company provides employment to nearly 300 people directly & indirectly for the
neighboring villages. Further nearly 7 lacks was supported for 3 persons for self
employment programs.

2. Education:

The Company is running a full fledged English Medium School up to 10th standard. The school was established in the center of 4 villages. The school was built in an area of 2.5 acres with all the infrastructure with 20000 SFT and fully Equipped Labs & Computers with 20 qualified teaching staff. The school proved to be the only school in the entire mandal areas as the best school for its highest quality education, discipline & other extra cultural activities for the all-round development of the students. Nearly 450 students are studying in the school out of which 375 students are from the near by villages. The school provides transportation facility for picking and dropping the students. The management of Anjani Cements spends about 35 lacks per year for running the school. 

3. Housing:

The Company has constructed nearly 576 Pucca Houses in nearby villages like Mallareddy Gudem, Erragunta, Kothgudem thandas, Guddimalkapuram, Nemalipuri etc. Also the Company has Donated Rs. 1 crore worth of cement for Indirama Housing Scheme Initiated by Govt. of A.P. for construction of Pucca Houses to Rural Poor.

Dr. B.V.Raju SC Model Colony (Near Jaggayapet, close to National Highway):
Further Anjani Cements has constructed 380 Pucca Houses exclusively for Schedule Castes by spending Rs. 30 lacks in the name of Dr. B.V. Raju SC Model Colony near Jaggayapet, Shaik Mohammedpet/ Takkellapadu Road (close to National Highway)

4. Laying of Pucca Roads:

The Company has spent nearly 50 lacks for laying cement roads in the villages.

5. Public Health & Sanitation:

Nearly one lack fifty thousand was spent for improving sanitation facilities.

6. Drinking Water:

Nearly 7 lacks was spent for providing drinking water in the villages.

7. Religious Activities:
(Construction & Renovation of Temples, Churches and Muszid etc.) Nearly Rs. 11 lacks was spent.
 

8. Youth Associations:

Youth Associations like Ambedkar Yuvajana Sangham etc. Nearly Rs. 2, 60,000 was spent.

9. Environmental Protection:

The Company makes continues efforts for maintaining a better and clean working environment both within plant and also across the neighboring villages. Thus the company maintenance a very Large Green Belt Area and does everything possible to achieve Zero level Pollution around the Plant Area. In recognition of our continues efforts in this regard, Anjani Cement was awarded Appreciation Certificates by Andhra Pradesh Pollution Controller Board in the year 2004 & 2008 on the occasion of the World Environmental Day.
